Steve McMenamin

Steve McMenamin is a Vice President at Borland Software Corporation where he is responsible for several Application Lifecycle Management products including StarTeam, CaliberRM and Together. He is based in Southern California.

Prior to joining Borland, Mr. McMenamin was Vice President, Engineering at BEA Systems in Kirkland, Washington. Mr. McMenamin led the engineering team that developed WebLogic Workshop, an application development framework and integrated development environment that has won numerous industry awards. He is also responsible for the integration of the products that make up the WebLogic Platform.

Mr. McMenamin joined BEA Systems as a result of BEA's acquisition of Crossgain Corporation of Redmond, Washington, where he was Sr. Director of Engineering. Crossgain developed the initial design and prototype that later became WebLogic Workshop.

Mr. McMenamin previously held a variety of management positions at Southern California Edison, Edison International's utility subsidiary. From 1997 through 1999, he was responsible for leading the changes required by the restructuring of California's retail electricity market. This assignment included policy definition, process design, information system development and startup of business operations arising from the onset of retail competition. From 1993 through 1997, Mr. McMenamin led SCE's Customer Service Division, which included meter reading, billing, telephone centers, field services, and collections. He also is the principal designer of Edison's Customer Service System.

Prior to joining Edison, Mr. McMenamin was a consultant in the field of information system development. Mr. McMenamin is co-author of Essential Systems Analysis (Prentice-Hall, 1984), which presents the requirements definition technique that he developed. He has consulted and lectured throughout the world.

Mr. McMenamin is a member of the ACM and IEEE.
